The vehicle and guide will be at the border (Desaguadero) at 9:00 a.m. (Bolivia time) to meet the passengers and assist with migration procedures. Once the process is completed, the journey continues to Tiwanaku, the “Cradle of American Civilization.” This archaeological site is among the oldest of the Andean cultures, and its remains are impressive for their monumentality and the perfection of their construction and decorative techniques.
You will visit the following attractions: Tiwanaku Museums and several ruins such as the Akapana Pyramid, Kalasasaya Temple, the Gate of the Sun, the Fraile and Ponce monoliths, Puma Punku, and the semi-subterranean temple.
You will also have the chance to observe local craftsmanship: small, carefully carved stones inspired by monoliths, Tiwanaku and Aymara amulets, as well as expertly made pottery such as ceremonial vessels, incense burners, Gate of the Sun replicas, and more. Lunch included. After lunch, we continue the journey to the city of La Paz.
Includes: Private transportation Desaguadero–Tiwanaku–La Paz or vice versa, mentioned visits, museum and ruins entrance fees, lunch in Tiwanaku, and bilingual guide (Spanish–English).
