Pick-up from the hotel in Puno (City Center) and transfer to the border (without guide). The vehicle and guide will be waiting at the border (Desaguadero) at 9:00 a.m. (Bolivian time) to meet the passengers and assist with the respective immigration procedures.
Once formalities are completed, we continue by vehicle to Tiwanaku, known as the “Cradle of American Civilization”. This archaeological site is among the oldest of the Andean cultures, and its remains are impressive due to their monumentality and the perfection of their construction and decorative techniques.
The visit includes the following highlights: Tiwanaku Museums and several ruins such as the Akapana Pyramid, Kalasasaya Temple, Gate of the Sun, Fraile and Ponce monoliths, Puma Punku, and the semi-subterranean temple.
You will also have the opportunity to observe local handicrafts: small carefully carved stones modeled after monoliths, Tiwanaku and Aymara amulets; and finely crafted pottery such as ceremonial vessels, incense burners, replicas of the Gate of the Sun, and more.
Lunch included. After lunch, departure to the city of La Paz.
