Itinerary

Day 1 – Santa Cruz

Arrival in the modern city of Santa Cruz and transfer to your selected hotel.

Day 2 – Santa Cruz

Breakfast at the hotel. We begin the city tour of the beautiful city of Santa Cruz, exploring the old town and its colonnaded walkways and archways that give it a colonial feel. We’ll drive along the different ring-shaped avenues that divide the city, passing by beautiful plazas and historical monuments. Following our program, we will visit modern neighborhoods with a contemporary style. We’ll taste one of Santa Cruz de la Sierra’s specialties, “El Café Típico” (typical coffee), accompanied by local pastries. Additionally, you can choose to visit a museum: the Regional History Museum, the Museum of Sacred Art, or the House of Culture (closed on Mondays). Return to the hotel. Afternoon free for personal activities. Overnight stay.

Day 3-Santa Cruz – Uyuni

Enjoy a light breakfast at the hotel very early. Transfer to the airport to board a domestic flight to the impressive Uyuni Salt Flat. Upon arrival, transfer to the city center to begin the tour of one of Bolivia’s most amazing tourist attractions. Visit Colchani, a handicraft market with salt crafts, llama and alpaca wool textiles, and see the artisanal process of salt production. We’ll continue by visiting the salt piles, salt water “ojos de agua” (eyes of water), the Dakar Rally monument, and the Plaza de Banderas del Mundo (Plaza of World Flags). Afterwards, we’ll visit the first Salt Hotel, a restaurant-museum where lunch will be served if it’s cold and dusty. Lunch is a picnic on the salt flat, with colorful tablecloths and pillows. After lunch, we’ll visit Incahuasi Island with its giant cacti. We’ll take a walk to the top of the island, from where you can see the entire Uyuni Salt Flat. On the salt flat, you can take incredible perspective photos and film exclusive, surreal videos. We will return across the salt flat to see the sunset with a mirror effect, then return to town and transfer to your selected hotel.

Day 4- Uyuni – La Paz

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board your flight to the city of La Paz. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.

In the afternoon, we’ll continue exploring this wonderful city and appreciate its rich cultural, historical, architectural, and natural heritage. We will visit the main square, Plaza Pedro Domingo Murillo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Congress, and the Government Palace (exterior view). We’ll also visit the Precious Metals Museum (closed on Mondays), and the Killi Killi viewpoint for a panoramic view of the city of La Paz and the snow-capped Illimani mountain, along with a replica of the Tiwanaku semi-subterranean temple.

Next, we’ll head to the southern part of the city to see the change in climate and building styles before traveling to the Valley of the Moon (Valle de la Luna), a place that will challenge your imagination. Its formations, a result of erosion, create the sensation of being on a small lunar landscape, resembling volcanic craters. You’ll also have the opportunity to ride one of the city’s famous cable cars and finish the tour with a visit to the Witches’ Market, where locals buy items for ceremonies and rituals like the Challa and offerings to the Pachamama (Mother Earth).

Return to the hotel for a rest.

Day 5- La Paz – Isla del Sol

Enjoy a very early breakfast at the hotel. The guide will meet you at the hotel (in the city center) at 7:00 a.m. to make contact, and we will wait for the tourist bus to depart for Copacabana at 8:00 a.m. (a 4-hour journey). The first stop is at the Strait of Tiquina, where everyone gets off the bus to cross the lake in motorboats. Once on the other side, we’ll get back on the bus to continue our journey along the lake, enjoying panoramic views.

We’ll arrive in Copacabana at 12:00 p.m. for a brief visit to the church and the town. Afterwards, we’ll take a private motorboat to the southern part of the Isla del Sol (Island of the Sun), where the Inca Empire is said to have been born. Here we’ll visit pre-Columbian ruins like the Yumani Staircase, the Fountain of the Inca, and the Palace of Pillkocaina, which offer a panoramic view of the Royal or Andean mountain range.

Lunch on the island will be an Apthapi, a communal meal. The rest of the afternoon is free to enjoy the island. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6-Isla del Sol – Puno

Enjoy a local breakfast. We’ll visit the Isla de la Luna (Island of the Moon), also known as the Temple of the Virgins of the Sun (Iñak Uyu). This stone building dates back to the Inca period and was where the Acllas (chosen women) prepared for religious rituals. The temple features precisely carved stone walls and structures that reflect the Incas’ architectural skill.

Afterwards, we’ll return to Copacabana to visit the town. At approximately 5 p.m., we’ll depart by local bus for the city of Puno, a journey of about 3 hours. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Chullpas of Sillustani, a pre-Hispanic cemetery that belonged to the Lupaca and Colla peoples. Although there is evidence of rock paintings up to 8,000 years old, the main structures date from 1100 to 1450 A.D. We’ll then return to the hotel.

Overnight stay.

Our journey continues to the Raqchi Archaeological Center (11,319 ft. / 3,450 masl), known as the Temple of the God Wiracocha, and the San Pedro de Andahuaylillas Church (10,148 ft. / 3,093 masl), built in 1580 and known as “the Sistine Chapel of Peru.” At 5:00 p.m., we’ll arrive in Cusco and you will be transferred to your hotel.
