Itinerary

Day 1 – Santa Cruz

Arrival in the modern city of Santa Cruz and transfer to your selected hotel.

Day 2-Santa Cruz

Breakfast at the hotel. We’ll begin our city tour of the beautiful city of Santa Cruz, exploring the old town and its colonnaded walkways and arches that give it a colonial feel. We’ll travel along the different “ring” avenues that divide the city, passing by lovely plazas and historical monuments. Following our itinerary, we’ll visit modern neighborhoods with a contemporary style. We’ll get to taste one of Santa Cruz de la Sierra’s signature treats, “El Café Típico” (local coffee), served with pastries from the region. Additionally, you can choose to visit a museum: the Regional History Museum, the Museum of Sacred Art, or the House of Culture (closed on Mondays). Return to the hotel. The afternoon is free for personal activities. Overnight stay.

Day 3- Santa Cruz – Uyuni

Enjoy a very early light breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board a domestic flight to the stunning Uyuni Salt Flat.

Upon arrival, transfer to the city center to begin your tour of one of Bolivia’s most incredible tourist wonders. We’ll visit Colchani, a local market with salt handicrafts and textiles made from llama and alpaca wool, and see the traditional process of salt production.

Our tour continues to the salt mounds, the “eyes of water” (salt water springs), the Dakar Rally monument, and the Plaza of World Flags. Next, we’ll visit the first Salt Hotel, which now serves as a museum and restaurant, where we’ll have lunch if the weather is cold and windy. Otherwise, lunch will be a picnic right on the salt flat with colorful tablecloths and pillows.

After lunch, we’ll visit Incahuasi Island, home to giant cacti. We’ll hike to the top of the island to get a full panoramic view of the Uyuni Salt Flat. On the salt flat itself, you’ll have the chance to take incredible perspective photos and create unique videos. We’ll then return across the salt flat to watch the sunset create a stunning mirror effect. Finally, we’ll return to the town and transfer to your selected hotel.

Day 4- Uyuni – La Paz

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to board your flight to the city of La Paz. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.

In the afternoon, we’ll continue getting to know this wonderful city and appreciate its rich cultural, historical, architectural, and natural heritage. We’ll visit the main square, Plaza Pedro Domingo Murillo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Congress, and the Government Palace (exterior view). We’ll also visit the Precious Metals Museum (closed on Mondays) and the Killi Killi viewpoint for a panoramic view of the city of La Paz and the snow-capped Illimani mountain, as well as a replica of the Tiwanaku semi-subterranean temple.

Next, we’ll travel to the southern part of the city to observe the change in climate and architectural style before heading to the Valley of the Moon (Valle de la Luna). This place will challenge your imagination, making you feel as if you are on a small lunar landscape. Its shapes are a result of erosion and resemble volcanic craters. You’ll also have the opportunity to ride one of the city’s famous cable cars and finish the tour with a visit to the Witches’ Market, where locals buy items for ceremonies and rituals like the Challa and offerings to the Pachamama (Mother Earth).

Return to the hotel for a rest.

Day -:La Paz – Isla del Sol – La Paz

Enjoy a very early breakfast at the hotel. Your guide will meet you at the hotel (in the city center) at 7:00 a.m. to board the tourist bus departing for Copacabana at 8:00 a.m. (a 4-hour journey). The first stop is at the Strait of Tiquina, where everyone will get off the bus to cross the lake in motorboats. Once on the other side, we’ll get back on the bus to continue the journey along the lake, enjoying panoramic views.

We’ll arrive in Copacabana at 12:00 p.m. for a brief visit to the church and the town. Afterwards, we’ll take a private motorboat to the southern part of the Isla del Sol (Island of the Sun), where the Inca Empire is said to have been born. Here we’ll visit pre-Columbian ruins like the Yumani Staircase, the Fountain of the Inca, and the Palace of Pillkocaina, which offer a panoramic view of the Royal or Andean mountain range.

Lunch on the island will be an Apthapi, a traditional communal meal. After the visit, we’ll return to Copacabana and take a local bus back to the city of La Paz, arriving at the local bus stop (Cementerio). From there, you’ll be transferred to your selected hotel. Overnight stay.

We’ll continue by visiting the archaeological sites just outside the city, including Sacsayhuaman, a megalithic structure, Qenqo, considered a ceremonial and ritual center where Inca sacrifices took place, and Puca Pucara and Tambomachay, important religious archaeological sites of the Inca culture.

The afternoon is free for personal activities.

From there, you’ll board the train that will take you to the magnificent town of Aguas Calientes. The train ride is approximately 1.5 hours.
