Itinerary

Day 1 – Lima

Welcome to Peru!
Arrival at the Lima airport, where you will be met by one of our representatives.
Then, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, located in the residential district of Miraflores. You’ll check in and have time to rest.

Day 2 – Lima

Breakfast at the hotel.
In the morning, you’ll take a tour of Colonial and Modern Lima, visiting the city during its three historical periods: Pre-Hispanic, Colonial, and Modern.
The tour begins at the Intihuatana viewpoint with a panoramic view of Lima Bay. You’ll continue through Miraflores to the Pucllana pyramid, where you’ll enjoy another panoramic view. You’ll then visit the historic center of Lima, including its palaces, mansions, churches, and plazas. This includes entry to the Museum of Religious Art inside the Lima Cathedral.

*On Saturday afternoons, Sunday mornings, and on civic and religious holidays, you will visit the Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo.

Day 3 – Lima – Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed-upon time, you’ll be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the morning is free for you to acclimatize to the altitude. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Imperial City of Cusco, starting with the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha). You’ll continue with a visit to archaeological sites outside the city, such as Sacsayhuaman, a megalithic construction; Qenqo, considered a ceremonial and ritual center where Inca sacrifices were made; Puca Pucara; and Tambomachay, important religious archaeological sites of the Inca culture. Overnight stay. (B)

Day 4 – Cusco – Sacred Valley – Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, you’ll head out for your visit to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You’ll visit the Awanacancha Textile Center, where you can see South American camelids and a live weaving demonstration by people from the Andes. Then, you’ll travel to the town of Pisac to visit a picturesque craft market where locals still maintain the tradition of bartering for goods and food, just as they did in the past. A buffet lunch is included at a local restaurant. Later, you’ll go to the town of Ollantaytambo to visit its fortress. You’ll tour the most important sections of the site while your guide provides an explanation of its history. To conclude the tour on the way back to Cusco, you’ll visit the town of Chinchero, where you can admire its well-preserved Inca Wall in the main plaza and visit the beautiful colonial temple. You’ll then be transferred back to your hotel in Cusco. Overnight stay. (B, L)

Day 5 – Cusco – Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes

Breakfast at the hotel. This day marks the climax of your trip: the visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu. You’ll be picked up very early from your hotel and taken to the Ollantaytambo train station. The journey takes about an hour and a half. Once there, you’ll board the train that will take you to the majestic town of Aguas Calientes. The train ride takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the Aguas Calientes station, your guide will be waiting to take you to the bus station to ascend to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, one of the 7 Wonders of the World. The tour will last 2 hours and 30 minutes and includes a visit to the Intihuatana (the Sun Clock), the Palace of the Incas, the Three Windows, and more. At the end of the tour, you’ll descend to the town of Aguas Calientes for some free time and lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, you’ll return to your hotel. Overnight stay. (B)

Day 6 – Aguas Calientes – Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel. The morning is free for personal activities and the opportunity to climb Huayna Picchu or make a second visit to the Machu Picchu citadel (not included). At the scheduled time, you’ll be transferred to the station to board the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Cusco. Overnight stay. (B) *Note: Please keep in mind that tickets for Huayna Picchu or a second visit to Machu Picchu are limited, so it is recommended to request them with a minimum of advance notice or at the time of confirming your reservation to avoid a lack of availability.

Day 7 – Cusco – Lima

Breakfast at the hotel.
At the scheduled time, you’ll be transferred to the airport to board your return flight to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima, you’ll connect with your international flight. (B)
